Flamengo is one of the most successful football clubs in Brazil, and they have had many players who have made their mark on the sport. One player who stands out among them is Flávio Luiz de Assis Pereira, commonly known as Flamengo's Mítido.

Mítido was born on May 18, 1955, and he started his professional career with the São Paulo club in 1974. He quickly became a key player for the team and helped them win several titles during his time there.

In 1982, Mítido joined Flamengo, where he would go on to play for over two decades. During his time at Flamengo, Mítido won numerous titles including the Campeonato Brasileiro,Football World Online Network Copa Libertadores, and Supercopa Sudamericana. He also holds the record for being the oldest player to ever score a goal in the Copa Libertadores, doing so in 2016 when he was 60 years old.

One of Mítido's most memorable moments came during the 1994 Copa Libertadores Final against Boca Juniors. In that match, Mítido scored a penalty kick to give Flamengo a 2-1 lead. Despite being heavily favored by the bookmakers, Flamengo eventually lost the game 3-2 and missed out on the title.

Despite not winning any more major trophies since his retirement from playing, Mítido remains a beloved figure in Brazilian football. He has been involved in various aspects of the sport, including coaching and managing teams.
