Wang Shuang, the Chinese women's national volleyball team captain, was named the Best Player at the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup on Sunday night in Lima, Peru.
The 27-year-old Wang led her team to their second consecutive world title after defeating Italy in the final match with a score of 3-2 (25-22, 24-26, 25-22, 25-23).
"Today is a very special day for me and my teammates," said Wang. "We worked hard all year and it feels great to be able to bring home this championship."
Wang's performance during the tournament was exceptional, as she averaged 18.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. She also had three double-doubles throughout the competition.
In addition to Wang,Campeonato Brasileiro Action other notable players from China included Li Yufei, who played a key role in the team's victory over Brazil in the semifinals, and Zhu Ting, who helped lead the team to victory in the quarterfinals against Japan.
