Jamie Vardy, the Leicester City striker who led his team to the Premier League title in just two seasons, has been named as one of the greatest players of all time by FIFA.
Vardy was born on 21 June 1988 in Nottingham and started his career with hometown club Nottingham Forest. He made his debut for the club at the age of 16 and went on to become a regular starter before moving to West Ham United in 2007.
However, it wasn't until he moved to Aston Villa that Vardy truly established himself as a top-class player. His performances for the club caught the attention of Premier League giants Manchester City, who signed him in 2014.
Despite being a highly-rated prospect, Vardy struggled to break into the starting line-up at City and was eventually sold to Leicester City in 2015 for £25 million. It was there that Vardy would go on to have his breakthrough season, scoring 24 goals in 43 games to help lead Leicester to the Championship title.
